fitting the lens
The lenses are CR39 optical grade plano clear and are used as demo lenses. That is they are to demonstrate to the dispensing optometrist just how they are held in the frame, and will act as a template for them. Each disc shape is sawn out of a 70mm blank and filed with a bevel to suit the vee-groove I made in the eyewire.
Note here that the lens doesn't quite fit yet. More grinding to be done to trim the lens size down.
